Federalism Assignment

 

1.  What does Federalism mean by definition and what does Federalism mean to you?
  • federalism is a system of government in which a written constitution divided the powers of government.
  • feeralism is where the government has divided powers between each system
2.  List and describe the three powers of the National Government.
  • expressed powers- the power to lay and collect taxes, coin money, protect the country
  • implied powers- the necessary and proper clause, that congress has the power to do things.
  • inherent powers- a soveregin state within the world community 
3.  Explain the division of powers and why it is important?
  • to keep one side of the governmetn from getting to powerful so that we stay at peace in our country
4.  What is the Supremacy Clause and what is its function?
  • joins the national government and states into a single government
